Leaving from Edinburgh we head across the Queensferry crossing and into the kingdom of Fife. Where we head to the village of Culross.
Deeply historic Culross is the perfect setting for Outlander’s fictional village of Cranesmuir. Its Mercat area is transformed on screen into the homes of Geillis Duncan and her husband Arthur. You can wander through the old alleys and discover the herb garden that Claire works at in the grounds of the fictional Castle Leoch behind the impressive Culross Palace.
Then we head to Linlithgow palace which is the setting for Wentworth prison.After Jamie is betrayed,the redcoats take him to Wentworth Prison, where he stands trial and is sentence to hang.
It’s in the dudgeons of Wentworth, where Jamie suffers great torture at the hands of Black Jack Randall.
Onwards to Blackness Castle which took the place of Fort William headquarters of “Blackjack” Randall. A 15th century castle overlooking the Firth of Forth.
Last but not least we head to the grounds of the grand stately home Hopetoun House. In the series it’s the residence of the Duke of Sandringham and was used for some of the Paris scenes.
Then on the far edge of the grounds its Midhope castle better known as Lallybroch where you can have your photo taken by Jamie’s home.

Departing from Edinburgh we make the short drive to North & South Queensferry, home to the stunning Forth Bridges. From here we will make our way to the charming town of Pitlochry which boasts some lovely walks, fantastic gift shops. We will then make our way to Iain Burnett master chocolatier, here you will find some of the finest chocolate in the country. This is a real hidden gem and boasts a delightful café. Next stop Aberfeldy, here you will be spoilt for choice from country walks to whiskey distilleries. We will then make our way to the old village of Kenmore. Kenmore is located at the end of the breath taking Loch Tay. We will then make our way around the North of Loch Tay where you can enjoy some lovely views and spectacular scenery. Last stop, The Falls Of Dochart, The falls are situated in the lovely quaint village of Killin, depending on the rain fall you may be able to walk out on to the falls to take some fantastic pictures and leave with some incredible memories.

Nowhere in Scotland is more riddled with mystery than Rosslyn Chapel.
There’s the apprentice who was murdered by his master after carving the ornate Apprentice Pillar. There’s the connection to the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail. And there are even some who believe the chapel was built on a UFO landing site. Let’s not forget the DaVinci code some of the most important scenes in the Film were shot on location here.
Then onto Glenkinchie distillery for a tour and whisky tasting. Only 15 miles outside Edinburgh this is one off the most picturesque distilleries in Scotland. Find out how our national drink is made from start to finish and end with a few drams with a trained guide.
